Carpentry and Property Maintenance
I offer the following handy person services:
- Repair/replace rotted or damaged timbers including windows, doors, flooring, external and internal cladding, verandas, patios, deck, skirting boards and architraves, stairs, etc.
- Installing skirting boards, architraves, decks, picture rails, doors, etc.
- Replacing or installing locks, handles and cabinet/storage hardware, etc.
- Fixing doors and windows for ease of opening and closing
- Painting and touch ups
- Furniture assembly
- Installing curtains and blinds
- Other general ‘handy’ tasks

Custom Furniture
Got an idea for a storage option? Want a bookcase to fit in a particular nook? Like a bench seat in your garden? Another custom design needed? I can do that!
I love building and designing furniture. I’m passionate about sustainable design and recycled timbers. Timbers can be machined to look new or left rustic for character according to your preference. I can stain/paint to match existing furniture.
Examples of a few furniture items I have built:
- Large outdoor backed bench seat. Made out of 100% recycled materials. Full of character with a natural finish.
- Small storage unit to fit pre purchased baskets. Made from salvaged timber fence palings and old merbeau decking.
- Large timber chest, size matched for the end of a bed. Made from 100% recycled merbeau decking
- Specific sized planter boxes for a community house. Made from 100% recycled pine pallet materials.
- Built in bookcase as a storage solution for an awkward space in a laundry. Painted to suit existing walls. Made from ply board.
Workshops
I am a professionally trained teacher with over ten years experience. One of the ways I approach woodwork teaching is from a practical standpoint. I want students to be able to confidently and safely use hand and power tools in their everyday life. I give students a practical introduction to tools, woodworking and furniture making.
As a woodworking teacher my focus is on creating a supportive learning environment. There are no dumb questions and I welcome people who are complete beginners. With each class I work in as many tool skills as possible and I ensure everyone leaves with a finished item.

About
Hello! My name is Anj and I am Hammertime Handy Services.
Prior to getting into trades I worked as a high school teacher in QLD and I bring this broad skill set into my work as a tradesperson and woodworking teacher. I have also worked as a social worker specialising in domestic, family and sexual violence and currently am a contracted maintenance worker for the YWCA.
I am passionate about timber and sustainability and I use recycled timber and materials where possible. My preference is to repair not replace.
I enjoy working in partnership with people to help them solve problems in their home and garden. I will workshop creative solutions with you and love meeting face to face over a cup of tea to guide you through the process.
I offer transparency and competitive pricing. I pride myself on good communication, organisation and professionalism, and I clean up all the mess I make.
I have a police check, working with children check, Public Liability Insurance and an up-to-date Level 2 first aid certificate.
I am your local, friendly handy person.
